Wahlberg DMX Winches at Liveworx 2018
660 of Wahlberg's DMX Winches were used in the opening of one of the worlds most respected digital transformation and technology conferences; LiveWorx 2018 in Boston.
The DMX Winches used was the fastest model from Wahlberg's range, The Winch1. With a lifting speed of up to 150cm pr. second, the DMX winches made the energetic performance possible.
At the end of the wire of each winch, a wireless battery driven LED Ball from Glow Motion Technologies was attached. Explosions of bright colors and movements accommodated the dancers on the stage as well as flying above.
Each of the dancers was covered in LED strips as well, blending in with the rest of the lighting from the balls.
All the DMX winches were controlled from a lighting desk in 3-D space, creating beautiful figures such as waves of illuminating balls, squares, and crosses. Furthermore, the winches and LED spheres operated as a ceiling above the speakers on one of the stages, creating the perfect setting for talking about technology.
The Kinetic installation received great feedback from the audience.
With dancers sided by side with glowing spheres, the performance turned out to be the perfect opening for what was going to be several days of great talks regarding technology.
