Wahlberg Curtain Rail System developed for the National Opera House in Copenhagen co-producing with Vlaamse Opera, Belgium.

The motorised rail system is mounted onto a standard easy-assemble unibeam rail and is designed to move a 14 m velvet curtain. The 64 m closed squared rail is equipped with a special-made power track for sourcing the motor- and control system.

The motor unit is a powerful 700 W Brushless DC motor, offering full torque in the whole speed area and precise control. The unit is DMX controlled and has a unique positioning system with drive-wheel encoders and an index sensor system that corrects the positioning system during use. This unique control system gives a positioning precision of up to 1 mm and speed options from 1 mm pr. second to 1 m pr. second.

The system contains a learning mechanism that measures the track the first time it is assembled. When this initial trial run is completed, the track properties are saved into the controller, and the rail is ready to use.
