Alcina at The Danish National Opera 2015

A custom-made version of the Wahlberg Track Runner grand size -  plays an important part in the staging of this opera event. The opera is in Italian and has Danish surtitles - displayed on the Wahlberg Surtitle Display.

The dynamic circle room in the center of the stage is developed by Wahlberg.

In order to create the different set-ups, the 2 blue stagecurtains hang from circular beams in the ceilings. Moreover each curtain has a Track Runner connected in the front and in the back. This way the curtains can both move sideways and in circles creating various spaces for the performance as seen in the photos.

The circular beams are mounted with power rails that feed the power to each Track Runner. The control signal to the motors are energised via wireless DMX. Altogether this gives great possibilities in the movement patterns and the curtains can go several times around the circular beams.

The Track Runner motors are DMX controlled and the advanced controlling system allows free positioning on the whole circular beam with a precision of 5 mm!

Alcina the witch lives on an island. She is a stunning beauty that every man falls in love with, however the consequenses are frightening. Opera by Händel from 1735.
